Stories of ghosts and haunted houses are not uncommon in The Rocks, but visitors to historic precinct will encounter an altogether different group of ghostly figures during the Light Walk.
The circle of glowing souls that form Jon Voss’ Ghost of the Rocks will not be an example of paranormal activity, but will be a showcase of the power of LED lighting.
What’s Smart?
Voss’ installation utilises DGA’s Power-Led, a patented lighting system that guarantees low energy consumption, excellent colour rendering index, no emission of UV rays, total absence of heat dissipation, and an extremely long lifetime.
About the artist
A diploma graduate from University College London's Bartlett School of Architecture, Jon focused on protoypes for interactive architecture. His final piece was a 5m-high robotic arm of machined aluminium, powered by air muscles, which can respond to the people around it. Since graduation, he has gained further experience as an artist, sculptor, model maker and architect.
