Façade
The application of sculpted light onto our familiar facades allows us to mimic nature and interfere with it at the same time. The familiar becomes unfamiliar and the unfamiliar is discovered in the most familiar of settings.
Façade will allow us to experience the MCA transformed, its façade alive with colour and movement.
What’s Smart?
Uses minimal structure to create a huge installation and uses high tech projectors to minimise energy waste and light pollution.
About the artists
Led by Peter Milne, this award-winning Australian company is recognised internationally as an innovator in large architectural projections. Established in 1997, the company has worked on many prestigious projects, including architectural, stadium field-of-play, and immersive projections using both large-format film and high powered videos. Past projections include the Opening Ceremonies of the Sydney 2000 Olympics and Paralympics, the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne in 2006, the Asian Games in Doha 2006 and the The East Asian Games in Macau in 2005.
