Michael Snape
"Colour TV"
The phrase "must-see TV" is thrown around a little too liberally nowadays, but Michael Snape's Art Light installation really is something that viewers will not want to miss.
Comprising three paper stencils attached to a regular television, "Colour TV" comes to life when the screen is switched on, as colour from the programs leeks through the three opaque layers and randomly animates fireworks.
A sculptor, painter and poet, Sydney-born Snape has held more than 20 solo exhibitions since 1975.
Michael Snape is participating in Art Light, a free exhibition at UTS, open daily until 10.00pm, 26 May – 14 June.
